The real reason some cabins smell fresh longer

Ventilation PhantomAnonymous

Housekeeping department here, three contracts on Harmony. Not all cabins get the same air circulation. Deck 12 port side forward has the intake vents closest to the fresh air system on this ship, which means those cabins cycle air faster than others. If you have ever noticed some cabins smell fresh and others have a slightly stale cruise ship smell by day three, this is why. It has nothing to do with cleaning — we clean every cabin identically. It is purely ventilation placement. The design team probably did not intend it but 12040 through 12060 on port side consistently smell the freshest. Crew who have sailed Harmony enough know this. We do not publicize it because every cabin is supposed to be equal, but physics is physics.
